System Administrator

Direct Hire

Dallas, TX


Supports and maintains Server systems; supports the configuration and maintenance of both physical and virtual computers; assists with the management of Active Directory, Group Policy, VMware, RDS and exchange servers; performs other related duties as assigned.


(This position may not include all of the listed duties, nor do all of the listed examples include all tasks which may be found in this classification.)

  • Assists in installing, configuring, and maintaining system hardware and software.
  • Installs, supports and maintains both physical and virtual servers and appliances.
  • Researches, analyzes, monitors, troubleshoots and resolves server or data network problems.
  • Maintain user accounts, profiles, file sharing, access privileges and security and daily server backups.
  • Assists in planning, coordinating and consulting with vendors and clients for hardware/software purchases, product services and support.
  • Work closely with Network Engineering, Application Development, and business stakeholders.
  • Active Directory user access management, and Group Policy procedures.
  • Develop strategies, policies, processes, and best practices.
  • Mentor co-workers and helpdesk. Create documentation for operationalizing tasks.
  • Write and troubleshoot PowerShell Script automation for routine tasks.
  • Keeps current regarding new hardware/software products for system enhancements.
  • Willingness to work additional hours during the week and/or weekend, when required.


  • Any combination of education and training equivalent to possession of a bachelor's degree in computer science, information engineering or other related areas; such education should be at a level which demonstrates the ability to perform duties comparable to those listed herein.
  • Possession of Microsoft Administration Certificates is preferred.
  • Experience installing and supporting Microsoft server technologies; administration including system configuration, setup, troubleshooting, implementation, and user support;
  • 3+ years in a Windows/Exchange Server administration role, utilizing VMWare ESXi and VSphere.
  • 3+ years of design and implementation disaster recovery (Veeam, Backup Exec, CommVault, or similar technologies).
  • 3+ years of iSCSI and fiber channel Storage, in a converged environment. (NetApp, Nimble)
  • 3+ years of experience managing Service Profiles in a Cisco UCS environment.
  • 2+ years of production experience in a large RDS environment.
  • 2+ years of Load Balancing technologies. (Kemp, NetScaler, F5)
  • Experience with Cloud implementation a plus (Azure, AWS)

Skill and Ability to:

  • Assist in the maintenance of servers.
  • General knowledge of MS Exchange implementation, maintenance, security and tuning to include enterprise capabilities such as replication, clustering, high availability, encryption, compression, as well as external security solutions.
  • General knowledge of current Active Directory, Group Policy, as well as experience migration from older to newer versions
  • General knowledge of PowerShell automation.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal, written.
  • General knowledge of the latest version of Exchange and migrating from older to newer versions, as well as integration into Office 365.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a complex and changing workload.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with peers and internal customers.
  • Exposure to iSCSI storage platforms, such as Nimble, NetApp...
  • Experience in developing enterprise Disaster Recovery strategies from the systems perspective.
