Sr. Security Project Manager
Contract
Fort Worth, TX

This position will be responsible for supporting projects that come from the Enterprise Security team.  The Sr. PM will be managing several different high visibility initiatives within the organization.  Examples of projects that the Sr. PM will be assisting with are Multi-Factor Authentication, Security Awareness Role Training and Identity and Access Management projects.  The PM will be working with every level of the organization, including C-level stakeholders.  The PM will need to demonstrate that they can work multiple projects simultaneously and with proficiency and seamless disruption to deliverables.  Teamwork, strong relationship management, dealing with ambiguity, and collaboration skills are critical to this role.

What You Will Be Doing:  

  • The PM must be familiar with managing projects in Waterfall, Agile AND Hybrid methodologies.   Some of the initiatives may be managed in an Agile / Hybrid method
  • The PM may be assisting with Agile release planning, Epic, Feature, and Story creation
  • The PM will help to prioritize, execute, and communicate key priorities and status
  • The PM should be comfortable in working in ambiguity and provide recommendations for organization and clarity in an environment that has several competing priorities
  • An example of security projects the PM will be assisting with are as follows:
  1. Lead the SOW or Request for Bid (RFP) based on project that he/she is working on
  2. Lead team in PM efforts in Cyber Security and Identity and Access Management projects, starting with assistance with the continuation of Multi-Factor Authentication across the organization, which includes strong change enablement and communication across the organization, strong organization/planning capabilities and risk mitigation and remediation skills
  3. Other key priority projects may follow based on leadership prioritization and needs
  4. Lead PM efforts in Security Role Training
  5. Assist in various Cyber Security team projects that require dependency, risk and issue ownership
  • Effectively communicate to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Leads, mentors, and manages project teams
  • Provide detailed project plan and roadmap for all levels of leadership
  • Director and VP level communications
  • Create and publish Program Charters, Risk, Decision and Action Logs
  • Manage Agile Kanban board with Agile Release Engineer, Product Owners and/or Scrum Master
  • A high level of independence to lead and influence others.
  • Ability to drive projects from both a tactical and strategic perspective    
  • Manage key metrics associated with Security Program
  • Provide Program summaries key stakeholders on a weekly basis
  • Manage vendor relationships; manage all onsite logistics
  • Manage key meetings, agenda, notes, decks
  • Provide status reporting on key program status to various stakeholders 
  • Work with Project team to ensure activities are completed as scheduled 
  • Support Project team as needed with budget creation, tracking and reporting as needed
  • Manage and Support Project team in tracking key project metrics 
  • Provide on boarding support for new contractors or employees
  • Manage project SharePoint site administration for key project deliverables
  • Responsible for leading large complex projects, or multiple medium size projects, that spans multiple systems and business areas 
  • Works with other project managers to manage interdependencies. 
  • Project contingency planning through risk identification, prioritization and response planning
  • Oversee procurement process involved in projects including developing RFI/RFP, developing strategy and approach for scoring/evaluation, management of the procurement process, contract negotiation, and successful vendor relationship management and communication

Must Haves:

  • 7+ years in managing projects 
  • 5+ years in managing security projects; this includes Technology experience that involves process change, organizational change and MEDIUM TO LARGE SCALE deployments
  • 3+ years in managing agile projects
  • PMP (Project PMP (Project Management Professional) ® Certification)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university
  • Ability to interact effectively with various levels within the organization
  • Experience in business and solution development, project management, and project delivery
  • Strong understanding of the system development life cycle
  • Experience working with vendors/partners to deliver projects
  • Experience developing complex, project plans to meet business objectives
  • Experience developing and managing large project budgets
  • Proven experience in project change management
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Visio and Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and SharePoint

Desired:

  • Agile Certification (Agile, Scrum Master, Product Owner)
  • Transportation experience
  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college/university (MBA, Information Systems or Computer Science)
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct people management experience
