Sr. RFID / IOT Design Engineer
Direct Hire

What You Will Be Doing:

  • You will work with our field teams to deploy and troubleshoot RFID technologies at our venues
  • Your position will include RFID readers, tags, chips, PLCs and underlying protocols for various implementations  
  • Work on reader software deployments, upgrades and enhancements 
  • Work on cutting edge IoT projects while insuring TOP notch performance at our venues for the RFID systems 
  • You will get to work on new concepts and prototypes
  • Visiting venues to observe functionality being provided to our guests - talk to associates and walk in their shoes to generate empathy that will feed into improvements and proof of concept development
  • Supporting venue teams during new venue rollouts
  • Training of help desk and related support teams
  • Design, implementation and ownership of solution test plans: software staging, hardware staging, and new business processes
  • Evaluating and developing RFID combined technology solutions
  • Benchmarking hardware and software solutions against the competition
  • Producing new, test environments to validate proposed solutions
  • Integrating new technologies with existing systems using a range of communication protocols
  • Developing and improving implementation documentation: venue survey process guides/documentation, implementation process/project plan templates, and training curriculum/supporting materials
  • Supporting our venues throughout project

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Business with a concentration in Information Systems (preferred)
  • Understanding of RFID, supporting protocols and various physical implementation challenges
  • Demonstrable desire to prototype and innovate using cutting edge technologies
  • Understanding of hardware and software deployment pipelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Background in or exposure to a current programming or scripting language (Java,
  • .Net, C/C++, Python, etc.)
  • Experience with beacons, BLE, NFC (Near-field communication)
  • Understanding of computer and device networking fundamentals
  • Working knowledge of the following are preferred, but not required: Web Services (SOAP/REST) and XML, IT Security management (ex: SSL, LDAP), MDM – Mobile Device Management Systems, PowerShell, Managing Cloud Computing environments (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), and MQTT / LLRP Protocols
