Senior Project Manager/Scrum Master
Contract
Fort Worth, TX

What You Will Be Doing:
Half of the time, the Sr. PM/SM will support projects that come from the eServices team.  The eServices team provides all transfer of data from one computer system to another, inbound and outbound, from the company network.  This permits multiple companies worldwide to exchange documents electronically, ideally in a standardized messaging format.  The eServices provides the B2B gateway for Electronic Data Exchange (EDI) between Trading Partners and company applications.  The eServices team is comprised of 28 team members, including onsite and offsite employees and contractors.  The PM will be the Scum Master who will be responsible for leading these 3 agile teams.  
Some of the key responsibilities for this role include the following:

  1. Scrum Master for 2 scrum teams and 1 kanban team
  2. Release Train Engineer for SAFe Program management
  3. Facilitate all agile ceremonies for each team
  4. Resolve conflicts and issues as they arise
  5. Ability to adapt process for changing team needs 
  6. Deliver meaningful metrics/reports for the teams and key projects
  7. VersionOne experience a plus
  8. General understanding of EDI, FTP, SFTP, PGP communication and mainframe a plus

The other half of the Sr. PM/SM will be to support projects that come from the Tools/Websphere team.  The PM will be a Scrum Master for 2 small teams and assisting in organizing the work intake methods, prioritization and backlog.  The PM must be familiar with kanban and bring organization to a team that is currently managing work in an adhoc manner and transform them into an agile kanban team.  
The work includes, but not limited to, the following:

  1. Knowledge and experience of agile transformation and coaching
  2. Bringing a team from adhoc planning to agile, kanban planning
  3. Teach team what agile means, what their roles are, how to perform in an agile way
  4. Implement agile ceremonies – Daily Standups, Iteration Planning, Demos, Retrospectives, Backlog Grooming, Program Increment Planning (PIP), etc
  5. Onboard team into Version One; Teach team how to use Version One
  6. Provide necessary agile reporting to leadership
  7. Build necessary features, stories in Version One, Kanban board
  8. Provide visibility and transparency to leadership and team to roadmap, backlog and current work load (Iteration)
  • The PM may also lead other key strategic projects based on priority or critical need.  
  • The PM will be working with every level of the organization.   
  • The PM will need to demonstrate that they can work multiple projects simultaneously and with proficiency and seamless disruption to deliverables. 
  • Teamwork, strong relationship management and collaboration skills are critical to this role.
  • The PM must be familiar with managing projects in Waterfall, Agile AND Hybrid methodologies.   Some of the initiatives may be managed in an Agile or Hybrid method.  
  • The PM will assist in planning, Epic, Feature, and Story creation.  
  • The PM will help to prioritize, execute, and communicate key priorities and status.  
  • The PM should be comfortable in working in ambiguity and provide recommendations for organization and clarity in an environment that has several competing priorities.

  • Manage vendor relationships and deliverables; manage all onsite logistics
  • Manage key meetings, agenda, notes, decks
  • Work with Project team to ensure activities are completed as scheduled 
  • Support Project team as needed with budget creation, tracking and reporting
  • Manage project SharePoint site administration for key project deliverables
  • Responsible for leading large complex projects, or multiple medium size projects, that spans multiple systems and business areas. 
  • Works with other project managers to manage interdependencies. 
  • Project contingency planning through risk identification, prioritization and response planning.
  • Oversee procurement process involved in projects including developing RFI/RFP, developing strategy and approach for scoring/evaluation, management of the procurement process, contract negotiation, and successful vendor relationship management and communication.

Must Haves:

  • 7+ years in managing application development projects, including medium to large scale deployments
  • 3+ years in managing agile projects
  • PMP (Project Management Professional ® Certification)
  • Agile Certification (Scrum Master)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university
  • Ability to interact effectively with various levels within the organization
  • Experience in business and solution development, project management, and project delivery
  • Strong understanding of the system development life cycle
  • Experience working with vendors/partners to deliver projects
  • Experience developing complex, project plans to meet business objectives
  • Proven experience in project change management
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Visio and Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and SharePoint

Desired:

  • ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) Certification  
  • 3+ years in managing vendor contracts and deliverables
  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college/university (MBA, Information Systems or Computer Science)
  • Experience developing and managing large project budgets
  • 2 years of direct people management experience
