Sr. PM - Intermodal
Fort Worth, TX

What You Will Be Doing:

  • The Project Manager should understand the alignment of project work with corporate strategies and be able to proactively manage program/project change to improve enterprise wide risk management, issue resolution, planning and re-planning of projects as they relate to strategies, and identify and recommend timing of project in-service moves and dates 
  • This position will be responsible for the planning, managing, tracking, reporting and oversight of several strategic, multi-year, technology projects 
  • The projects have a heavy emphasis on automating functions performed within an Intermodal terminal.   
  • Two key projects of focus: 
  1. Hub Automation: Automation of horizontal movements (track to parking/parking to track) and crane operations
  2. Automated Yard Check: Tracking of Intermodal equipment and assets inside the hub using third party vision systems
  • The PM will be working with every level of the organization, including C-level stakeholders
  • Effectively communicate to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Leads, mentors, and manages project teams
  • Provide detailed project plan and roadmap for all levels of leadership
  • Director and VP level communications
  • Create and publish Program Charters, Risk, Decision and Action Logs
  • Ability to drive projects from both a tactical and strategic perspective  
  • Manage key metrics associated with projects
  • Provide project summaries to key stakeholders on a weekly basis
  • Manage vendor relationships and deliverables; manage all onsite logistics
  • Manage key meetings, agenda, notes, decks
  • Work with Project team to ensure activities are completed as scheduled 
  • Support Project team as needed with budget creation, tracking and reporting
  • Manage and Support Project team in tracking key project metrics 
  • Provide on boarding support for new contractors or employees
  • Manage project SharePoint site administration for key project deliverables
  • Responsible for leading large complex projects, or multiple medium size projects, that spans multiple systems and business areas. 
  • Works with other project managers to manage interdependencies
  • Project contingency planning through risk identification, prioritization and response planning.
  • Oversee procurement process involved in projects including developing RFI/RFP, developing strategy and approach for scoring/evaluation, management of the procurement process, contract negotiation, and successful vendor relationship management and communication.


  • 7+ years in managing application/development projects.  This includes Technology experience that involves process change, organizational change and MEDIUM TO LARGE SCALE deployments
  • 3+ Years’ experience in managing agile projects
  • The PM will need to demonstrate that they can work multiple projects simultaneously and with proficiency and seamless disruption to deliverables
  • The PM must be familiar with managing projects using Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid Methodologies. The Intermodal projects will be leveraging all of these methodologies
  • The PM must have a solid understanding of project management processes and execution, as well as the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and leverage that knowledge to understand impacts across the program, proactively manage risks, coordinate and quickly resolve issues, and provide leadership and guidance to a team of project managers
  • This role is one that requires team leadership, business acumen, strong relationship management skills within IT and Business areas and ability to address executive audiences
  • Experience in managing agile projects and interfacing with other agile project owners, including Scrum Masters and Product Owners 
  • Teamwork, strong relationship management, dealing with ambiguity, and collaboration skills are critical to this role.
  • A high level of independence to lead and influence others
  • Agile Certification (Agile, Scrum Master, Product Owner)
  • PMP (Project Management Professional ® Certification)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university
  • 5+ years in managing vendor contracts and deliverables
  • Ability to interact effectively with various levels within the organization
  • Experience in business and solution development, project management, and project delivery
  • Strong understanding of the system development life cycle
  • Experience working with vendors/partners to deliver projects
  • Experience developing complex, project plans to meet business objectives
  • Experience developing and managing large project budgets
  • Proven experience in project change management
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Visio and Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and SharePoint


  • Transportation/Railroad experience
  • ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) Certification 
  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college/university (MBA, Information Systems or Computer Science) 
  • 2 years of direct people management experience
