Sr. LAN/Desktop Admin Specialist

Fort Worth, TX

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Network planning, development and technical/administrative support activities and 2nd level Desktop support
  • Provide advanced technical support to employees for network infrastructure and internal desktop systems
  • Support software and hardware upgrades/and or configuration of PC’s and Laptops
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot desktop systems, workstations, servers and network issues
  • Communicate technical information to management, technical and non-technical users
  • Recommend hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades
  • Apply company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Must Haves: 

  • Advanced understanding of network infrastructure
  • Ability to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced problem solving/decision making skills
  • Advanced troubleshooting/diagnostic skills
  • Organization skills/Documentation skills
  • Proficient use of business software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Understanding of IT terminology to interact with peers and management
  • Knowledge of LAN/Desktop/Voice/ Network configuration is a plus
  • Detail-oriented, results driven and self-motivated.  
  • Experience with Server and network environments
  • Knowledge in network security, host security, risk assessments, policy development. 
  • Understanding of Data Center Networks/ VPN, IT Security, Remote and Local Network Access, LAN, WAN, AP’s and Wireless and cloud technologies 
  • Participate in strategic infrastructure planning; contribute to design forums. 
  • Update network configurations, tools and documentation
  • Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, contractors and service providers
  • Proficient use of Windows-based business software
  • Provide Level II desktop support and perform other duties as assigned


  • Working knowledge of major hardware and software components of networking: WAN; LAN; VoIP; cabling
  • Working knowledge of network management practices and tools
  • Understand basic statistics needed to analyze network performance
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools to identify, troubleshoot and resolve network problems
  • Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills
  • Problem solving/decision making skills
  • Ability to research and develop solutions
  • Professional level Cisco Certification
