Charlotte, NC

The Solution Architect plays a key role in structuring the enterprise in terms of its processes, capabilities and technology. The Solution Architect aligns strategic goals and objectives with decisions regarding products and services; partners and suppliers; organization; capabilities; and key business and IT initiatives.  This individual's primary responsibility is translating business goals, requirements, capabilities and objectives into detailed (system architectural and design) solutions through use of process flow diagrams, future-state operational changes and technical solutions.  We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate leadership through this process.

What you will be doing:

  • Work successfully with and on Agile teams
  • Understanding of the Agile methodology and how Solution Architecture aligns within it
  • Quickly and effectively understand business issues and challenges
  • Elicit business needs and builds a trusted advisor relationship with business leaders to provide coaching and guidance on solution options based on understanding of industry trends and customer expectations
  • Serves in a domain expert role in multiple areas of business and technology
  • Facilitates or influences changes to product portfolio to improve competitive position and optimal product performance
  • May work with internal or external business and technology constituents to determine product future direction or respond to product inquiries
  • Serves as an integral member of the team that helps develop a consolidated business and technology road-map to help ensure that resources, interdependencies and business priorities are effectively aligned
  • Translate complex topics, concepts and business opportunities into possible solutions that will help take advantage of market opportunities or overcome business challenges; create a standard set of EA work products including business capability models, logical architecture models, and physical architecture models that enable the organization to achieve the value identified with high quality
  • Define the set of concepts, processes, and services that comprise the enterprise's value chain and operations
  • Work with the business and technology leaders to understand current and future-state Process flows
  • Work with the product manager or project sponsor to document the business vision and build the blueprints that guide the project teams development activities to ensure solution delivery meets the vision set
  • Provides informal mentoring to other members of the development teams
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to leverage previous investments (business operations and technology enhancements) to accomplish future business needs
  • Manages multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Must Have:

  • Undergraduate degree required (Advanced degree a plus)
  • 4 or more years of Information Technology Architecture Analysis and Design experience
  • 4 or more years of development including full life cycle activities
  • 2 or more years of Data Management and/or Data Warehousing experience
  • Track record of success designing scalable solutions at the enterprise level
  • Experience with multiple SDLC methodologies (including Agile/Scrum)

Preferred:

  • Experience implementing SOA and industry standard distributed services standards, technologies and tools (e.g., XML, REST, SOAP, etc.) across a large, multi-system landscape
  • Understanding of Unified Modeling Language, ArchiMate
  • Experience estimating strategic, operational, and financial impacts of architecture solutions in support of portfolio initiatives
  • Experience rationalizing, consolidating, or simplifying multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies, and processing environments
  • Experience working with Sparx Enterprise Architect, IBM System Architect, or other enterprise modeling tools
  • Previous experience enhancing a company's efficiency and effectiveness through the use of business process re-engineering preferred
  • Understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance laws and regulations within the healthcare industry
