Responsibilities:

This Software Developer will be joining the Distributed Common Ground Station-Army engineering and sustainment services CHARCS sustainment team. The CHARCS sustainment team provides all system specific necessary functions to complete their critical PM DCGS-A sustainment support activities. Types of support provided by the team include Engineering Management, Test/Quality Assurance Engineering (T/QAE), and Technical Writing.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to plan the translation of software requirements into functioning code by assessing and communicating recommendations, level of effort and risks
Evaluate and recommend architectural approaches to the whole system, to include hardware platforms, operating systems and communications and storage technologies on which to base future development and fielding cycles
Implement new and modify existing functionality and interfaces
Code individually and collaboratively in a team environment, adhering to team coding standards and best industry practices
Update, patch and modify an underlying MS Windows operating system baseline the CHARCS application will reside on

Qualifications:
BS Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or technical BS degree
4 years of professional work experience
At least 2 years’ experience in Windows coding, including compiled languages such as C# (preferred), C++, Java, and object-oriented methodologies
At least 2 years’ experience in Windows administration (Vista or more recent), including activities such as operating system installation, configuration and patching, and application installation and configuration
At least 2 years demonstrated experience with SQL database administration
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certified (baseline security certification i.e. CompTIA Security+ CE) and (technical computing environment training or certification i.e. Server+) prior to start of work
Active DoD Top Secret security clearance; SCI Eligible

Preferred:
At least 2 years’ experience with either CHARCS or another DCGS-A family system
Experience developing utilities in a Linux environment
Experience in creating and maintaining code for a large application with many interdependencies
Experience with industry standard configuration management tools (e.g. Team Foundation Server)
Knowledge of DoD classification markings
