Ft. Worth, TX

Expert in SAP Change & Release Management, specifically using CHARM, with ability to handle transports/object lock/downgrade protection/retrofits, as well as a strategic understanding of SAP landscapes/how to shift transport mgt within environments to support emergency/temporary envts.  Also should be strong in Solution Manager tools (BPM, etc.).

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of SAP Change Management, including oversight of contractors in support of all SAP project initiatives.
  • Complete understanding of, and ability to consult on SAP Change Management strategy in a complex, changing landscape

Includes a working knowledge of:

  • Solution Manager (Solman) 7.2
  • HANA 1.0
  • Transport management, including sequencing conflicts, cross system object locks (CSOL), and retrofits/downgrade protection (DGP)

Remedy – Change Requests

  • Document/Request Remedy Tickets and WO for all manual changes
  • Multiple SAP landscapes (Primary, Secondary/N+1, Tertiary, Emergency)
  • Manage, communicate and track changes across all SAP environments
  • Oversight of all SAP changes
  • Work with all SAP Teams to understand project needs for Weekly, Minor and Major Releases
  • Advise SAP Teams how to safely move changes through the SAP environments while mitigating risk
  • Support changes for Hana, PI, Portal, BW, ECC, UI5/Fiori, GRC, Success Factors
  • Oversight of SOX Audit of Charm / all production changes
  • Consult on architecture strategies in support of parallel, changing project development demands in a complex landscape.
  • Includes strategies around use of retrofit vs dual development
  • Support Release Management Team on annual project planning
  • Solution Manager
  • Oversight of the Solution Manger System
  • Charm support (Level 3 Support) assistance and questions (note we have 400 users on Charm) 
  • Approve Solman user access
  • Design Charm configuration setup for various project streams (ex. Small Enhancements, Weekly Release, new projects, etc.)
  • Define and refine change management processes and procedures
  • RSLF (Run SAP Like a Factory) assistance setup
  • Support changes to SAP BPMon and Solution Manager work centers (supporting RSLF)
  • Maintain and Enhance Solution Documentation structure
  • Configure and modify documentation templates, status values, and document workflow within Solution Manager
  • Manage change requests to Solution Manager Configuration – either for new document templates, new security roles, or new functionality.
  • Work with infrastructure team to maintain Solution Manager
  • Work with the SAP security team to define team member roles and access requirements.
  • Work with the SAP testing team to ensure integration with HP Quality Center
  • Support the configuration of Solution Manager IT Service Management (ITSM)
  • Execute SOLMAN_SETUP for Managed Systems and Technical Operations
  • Managing Solman documentation and document standards
  • Train and provide general technical support of business process documentation
  • Production Support/Monitoring and Problem resolution (including OSSNOTES Review) for
  • Solution Manager Charm
  • Solution Manager UPL
  • Solution Manager CDMC
  • Solution Manager ATC
  • Solution Manager BPMON
  • Solution Manager Upgrade Regression Bed
  • Maintain Solman test cases
  • Prepare management reporting and KPI Metrics

Assist/oversee the following activities:

  • Work with SAP Support team members to support weekly and other release changes
  • Execute Weekly, Emergency, & Unplanned Release Charm Moves
  • Execute  BOBJ Weekly Release
  • Audit Weekly Release prior to Change Advisory Board (CAB) review 
  • Prepare validation log for transports imported to production
  • Delete reverted objects
  • Close changes that have moved to production
  • Document/Track all manual changes for Major Release’s
  • Maintain transport list and order for all upgrades
  • Monitor and report import jobs scheduled in Solution Manager system
  • Monitor clean-up activities for Major to drop down to N landscape
  • Track process of manual retrofits into N+1 landscape (Informatica, Portal, Basis Manual, PI)
  • Create transports for manual changes
  • Create BP User ID’s within Solution Manager after security setup
  • Configure and customize existing and new status profiles, actions, and priorities
  • Modifying charm fields and corresponding values based on end users requirement

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in technical field is required
  • At least 7 years leading enterprise project initiatives, with significant experience in multiple SAP system implementations/upgrades.
  • Must have 5 years of experience demonstrating leadership with people either directly (direct reports) or indirectly (project teams).
  • Must have significant project experience with ECC 6.0 or greater, Hana, PI, Portal, BW, ECC, UI5/Fiori, GRC, Success Factors
  • Effective verbal and written communication with peers and all levels of management a must.
  • Able to adjust readily to multiple demands, concurrent projects, and shifting priorities.
  • Able to manage significant workload, remove barriers and influence events to achieve results.
  • Able to lead and monitor resources and work efforts across teams and drive the results of team efforts.
  • Have a basic working knowledge of enterprise technology best practices and architecture, including hardware, software, network and applications.
  • Coordinate governance requirements in support of SAP project implementations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in a complex SAP environments with multiple landscapes and competing business project implementations.
  • The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the underlying technologies used to support Charm, Remedy, Solution Manager, UI5, HP ALM, Control-M Job Scheduling, Success Factors, Panaya, Informatica and other infrastructure.
  • Work in conjunction with the functional teams within the SAP Support Center and project teams to ensure governance and adherence to best practices.
  • Proven experience in leading large cross-functional teams through all phases of implementing solutions, delivering valuable products and services on time, within budget, and within compliance of internally required and externally mandated standards and practices.
  • Ensure application deliverables are functionally appropriate, technically sound and well integrated. Ensure project team is accountable for risk mitigation through following project methodology and change management standards.
  • Understand and communicate strategic links between technical and business plans.
  • Effectively communicate project plans, project status, and risks to upper management.
