Program Manager, Sales Systems and Operations

Reporting to the Associate Director of Sales Operations, the Sales Systems Manager is responsible for ensuring that the sales systems infrastructure is supportable and flexible and supports the data collection, management and reporting of Sales results used for sales results marketing effort impact.  The Sales Systems Manager supports our business by applying a deep understanding of best in class infrastructure and in house data collection and business intelligence infrastructure and processes to increase marketing and sales insight.  The Sales Systems Manger works collaboratively with, Sales, IT, Legal, Marketing, HR and other organizations to increase the effectiveness of the data, infrastructure and tools used measure and distribute sales results. The Sales Systems Manager will independently recommend, develop and distributable data solutions to achieve short-term strategy change while managing the longer-term implementation of scalable infrastructure without service disruption.


  • Writing and leading teams developing technical and functional system enhancement specifications.
  • Building business cases and financial justification for capital and expense expenditures.
  • Performs analysis and makes recommendations in areas that require a high level of technical competency.
  • Oversee the management of the day-to-day execution of the sales team’s information systems/technology. 
  • Ensure stability, robustness, efficiency, and continuous improvement of the company’s business intelligence systems.  Design, plan and implementation of strategies for increased functionality, reliability and delivery of data/information to assist in managing the business.
  • Develop and implement the systems’ improvement and business processes to help drive sales.
  • Provide collaborative leadership for building the company wide data warehouses and business Intelligence tools.
  • Strategize with IT Leadership and outside software vendors to continuously improve the current systems and processes.
  • Partner with Market Analytics to achieve an actionable universal brand/sales ECP segmentation with a process and rules for account prioritization and CRM across brands and channels.
  • Maintain consistent, collaborative, pro-active communications and administrative linkages with appropriate Product, Channel, Service and Consumer marketing, internal/external sales groups.  Maintain and develop close relationship with IT, Finance, Data Warehouse, and Supply Chain to ensure that the Sales Ops team is aligned to plans, strategies and changes in our company that impact the team’s output.
  • Oversee accurate and timely calculations and maintenance of the sales bonus system.
  • Utilize multiple systems to create and maintain databases to be used in reporting and analysis.
  • Play a lead role in determining analysis, metrics and information most relevant to the business.


  • Degree in Business, Marketing or Finance with a strong quantitative and analytical and systems background; or degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or MIS/CIS.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise systems architecture and development methodologies.
  • Track record of successful systems implementations and support with little supervision in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in systems analysis database design and or programming required with project management and leadership responsibilities.
  • Experiencing developing Excel and Access analytics solution prototypes then working with IT and business teams to manage the implementation in enterprise architecture.
  • Can write and read SQL.
  • 10 years’ experience working in IT and in functional systems analysis and design roles.
  • 2 years management experience required.   
  • Experience managing and supporting CRM or customer contact systems including Saratoga CRM and
  • Excellent written and oral communications. 
  • The ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical team members and leaders. 
  • Experience representing and defending business priorities in IT enhancement prioritization meetings.
  • Expert knowledge of and implementation of BI tools, Business Objects, Microstrategy, BIRST, DOMO, Tableau or Spotfire.
  • Experience in budgeting and financial reporting for a functional organization.
  • Experience writing and leading teams developing functional and technical requirements.
  • Leading functional team to coordinate activities and manage issues for enterprise system implementations.
  • Experience managing PC support and PC budgeting.
  • Experience deploying MS Access web based reporting solutions
  • Experience as a Systems Administrator on multiple operating systems and database platforms.
  • Experience writing and delivering software training.
  • MCSE, DBA or other technical certification preferred.
  • Experience developing and managing issues request tools and processes.
  • Experience managing product codes in enterprise systems.
  • Experience managing financial reporting payroll or calculating sales compensation quota and bonuses.
  • Experience Coordinating conversions and upgrades to vendor and internal systems and platforms.
  • Understands Internet, Intranet, Extranet and client/server architectures. 
  • Applies significant knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service to our clients
  • Well-organized presentations.
  • Possesses understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design.
  • Is a team player with entrepreneurial spirits - come up with and are willing to try new ideas to achieve greater levels of success.
  • Experience in the health or eye care industry desirable, but not required.
