Network Architect
Contract to Hire
Greenville, SC

The ideal candidate for the  Network Architect will be a highly motivated individual and able to work in a very visible role in a large multi-cultural organization. While working with the network and other infrastructure outsourcing partners, the Network Architect will both design new networking solutions and support the implementation of these solutions. This person will work closely with other Network Architects and the Global Infrastructure Architecture Team to ensure compliance with company global standards.

This person will serve as the point of contact for Network Architecture and related topics in the North America geographic region with the Americas zone.  This person will develop high level designs and provide architectural support to network related projects by ensuring the solutions are executed and implemented according to standard technical specifications. This person will serve as a resource to assist with troubleshooting network related issues, as needed.

The Network Architect role is to work with other architects and managers to plan and design WAN, LAN (wired and wireless), and Voice networks at the client site.  The person will lead and oversee all network architecture work for the client as well as ensure proper performance of the network and the suppliers of the network services. The infrastructure will be used by approximately 13,000 users.  This individual will apply proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of best practices to guide the design and implementation of network solutions.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar
At least 7 years designing and supporting WAN, LAN (wired and wireless), and voice networks in a multi-geographic, multicultural environment
Certification in Cisco’s CCNP
Certification in Cisco’s CCIE or CCDP is a plus
Routing protocols – EIGRP, OSPF, BGP
LAN Switching – VLAN, VTP, STP, EtherChannel, CoS
WAN – MPLS, MPLS/VPN, MP-BGP, Metro-Ethernet, SONET
TCP/IP protocol suite(IPv4 and IPv6) and Quality of Service
Application protocols - HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SMTP, SNMP, SSL etc
Network Security - IPSec VPN, AAA Architecture, TACACS+, RADIUS, firewalls, IDS/IPS.
DNS/DHCP/Proxy
VoIP implementation and support, Enterprise type accounts, Cisco Call Manager (CCM), and Cisco Contact Center Express (IPCC)
Cisco Wifi – Controller based, autonomous, and flexconnect techniques
Cabling- BICSI standards and implementation
Manufacturing networking – Rockwell and automation equipment

Requirements:
Cisco Catalyst 7500, 6500, and other Catalyst Series switches
Cisco Nexus family of switches 
Cisco Routers 3800, 3900, 7600 Series
Cisco IOS Software and NX OS Software
Wireless LAN technologies – Cisco, 5508, 2602, and mesh
WAN Acceleration/optimization
Application Load balancers –Cisco ACE/GSS
Network Management – Ciscoworks, Cisco Prime, other monitoring tools
Adaptive Security Appliances including the 55xx series and Cisco PIX, ASA's, and also Checkpoint
Virtualized environment – HyperV, Hypervisor
Access Control – ISE, NAC
Proven successful design and deployment of network solutions

Additional Skills:
Experience with ITIL processes and ITSM tools – ServiceNow a plus
Strong organization skills and ability to multi-task to ensure delivery of commitments
Experience working in a professional office environment supporting remote end users
Excellent PC skills to include Microsoft O365
Very strong written and oral communication skills - ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management
Must be a team player with heavy interactions with IT team, suppliers and users
Must be goal-oriented, persuasive, and work well both independently and as part of a team
Must be able to develop positive, collaborative, relationships with IT management, business customers and suppliers
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and resolve issues - both written and verbal communication skills (preferably at the boardroom level) are essential
Fluency in the French language is a plus
