Job Description

Platform Engineering Experience:

•Excellent troubleshooting skills and knowledge of the infrastructure layer and middelware technologies (OS/WebServer/Network/Loadbalancers/Firewalls/Web Proxy, CDN/Certificates/Authentication & Authorization Methods)

•Experience with configuring VIPs/Pools on enterprise class load balancers such as Big IP F5, DNS, and URL/URI redirects

  • Intimate knowledge with and experience in the design, implementation, and configuration of highly available .Net Applications on IIS/Windows Platform
  • Ability to develop automated orchestration solutions to improve efficiency in common maintenance and system administration tasks

•Experience using and working with APM tools such as dynaTrace, Gomez, AppDynamics, Avicode to help troubleshoot application error and performance.

  • Exerience in implementation of autohealing capabilities for common system errors or conditions.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and engineering skills for OSI L4-L7
  • Excellent understanding and ability to troubleshoot Hybrid Saas, Cloud,MultiCloud and On-Prem solutions
  • General understanding of the interaction between typical Enterprise IT systems (Storage,Compute,Network,Firewalls, Security, Database, ActiveDirectory,DNS)

•Understanding of web/API protocols (HTTP, REST, SOAP, etc.) and web-based architectures

  • Knowledge of enterprise application monitoring methods, tools and ability to translate monitors into a reproduceable and systematic support workflow

DevOps Experience:

•Experience in designing and implementing infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipeline for deployments of large-scale web applications

  • Experience in enterprise application deployment design and development
  • Experience in the automation of enterprise system administration tasks

•Strong understanding of programming concepts and development / scripting skills PowerShell, Python, etc., with the ability to pick up any language quickly

•Experience with one or more of the common software configuration management tool such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt, or Octopus as well as automation orchestration tools such as Jenkins.

•Experience managing the SDLC of the automation code in a version control system such as Visual Studio (VSTS) and TFS or other version control systems


•Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written

•Ability to participate in 24/7 escalation on-call rotation and respond to mission-critical issues as needed

•Passion and drive to improve efficiencies in how we deliver IT services

  • Strong propensity to provide technical solutions drawing from a combination of past experience and exploration of new tools and methods
  • Ability to present and evaluate complex engineering solutions with a range of audiences from fellow engineers to business leaders
  • Strong documentation and organization skills
  • Assist with the transition to Salesforce Cloud applications through development and support of automated deployments


•Experience with deploying large scale web applications in AWS or Azure.

•Experience with Linux is a big plus.  Although we are 90% windows, we do have some Linux systems as well.

•Experience designing and/or supporting NoSQL based applications based on Redis, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, etc.

•Experience administering public and private certificates, proxy servers, and CDN


They will be responsible for working closely with our application teams to mature the automated deployment and management for our web application environments (Windows/IIS/Sitecore/SQL Server/ElasticSearch/MongoDB/RabbitMQ/Redis/Linux/API Gateways). They will analyze the current state of disparate deployment methodologies, tools, and processes and work with lead Architects to redesign and implement more robust and highly automated solution for application deployments.  They will leverage their extensive experience and skill in troubleshooting large scale web appliations to help resolve incidents related to the mission critical websites and look for opportunities to implement autohealing capabilities.  In summary they will be expected to help ensure smooth efficient deployments as well as help troubleshoot any infrastructure or application platform related issues.   They will also be involved in our journey to migrating our enterprise class web applications to the cloud.

The ideal candidate is not expected to be a Subject Matter expert in any of the aforementioned technologies.  We are seeking someone with a broad range of skills and experience that has a desire and capacity to quickly learn and utilize new technologies. 
It is not uncommon for us to learn an application stack and be able to deploy and troubleshoot it as Tier 2, Tier 3 support resources in the span of 1-2 weeks.
