Insider Threat Program Manager
Contract to Hire
Cincinnati, OH or Van Buren, MI

Our client is seeking a temp-to-hire candidate for its Insider Threat program that will report to the Senior Director of Cybersecurity – Data Security leader. This role will lead the program build-out to support stakeholder engagement and working groups to establish a formal governance structure for Insider threat detection and mitigation.

In this role you will be pivotal towards advancing our Insider Threat program. This position requires a motivated fast learner who works within a team to identify, analyze and remediate potential threats. You will possess solid security industry knowledge that evolves with current and emerging threats as well as an ongoing desire to fully understand key business and technological processes.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead an ongoing refinement of the enterprise-wide Insider Threat program
  • Align and socialize program governance model across multiple stakeholders, senior managers, and executives
  • Have a strong understanding of Insider Threat system architecture, including hands-on experience in algorithm development and use of automation tools to identify trends
  • Provide strategic direction in managing a program with multiple workstreams
  • Drive cutting-edge technology innovation to keep pace with the need for dynamic change in the methods and techniques for monitoring and analyzing the behavior of individuals
  • Enforce governance structure, project management discipline and drive execution
  • Enhance and manage detailed project plans, including definition of roles, responsibilities and milestones
  • Present structured senior management updates, including but not limited to summarizing activities related to program timeline and deliverables
  • Determine the scope of any new efforts, direct the strategic thinking, and develop an approach and structure to the analysis required to achieve key deliverables within initiatives
  • Proven experience in developing and driving meaningful metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) surrounding an Insider Threat Program

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • A minimum of 5 years of technical experience in Insider Threat/Data Loss Prevention/ Data Protection/Forensics
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to successfully pass requirements for Secret (S) level clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Insight/expertise in behavioral risk analysis, understanding concealed behavior techniques is highly desired
  • Proven experience in developing and driving meaningful metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) surrounding an Insider Threat Program
  • Experience configuring and using user and/or entity behavior analytics (UBA/UEBA) products
  • Advanced knowledge and experience using Splunk to execute complex search queries and generate reports
  • Hands-on experience working with data protection and data loss prevention tools
  • Solid understanding of systems monitoring, alerting and analytics
