eLearning Developer

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Description: 

Develop eLearning content using Storyline 360 and Adobe software. Proficient in creating engaging system demonstration and simulations.

Under general supervision this position develops Web and Computer Based Tutorials across a variety of platforms including HTML, Flash, Captivate, and Lectora in a fast-paced environment. This position also supports Business Owners by fulfilling online training needs with creative innovation and decision making. Collaborate closely with Instructional Design, Multimedia, and LMS teams to meet business requirements in a timely manner.

Specific tasks or responsibilities will be documented in the incumbent performance objectives as outlined by the incumbent’s immediate supervisor or manager.

1. Develop computer based training modules in a variety of applications including Flash, Lectora, Captivate, and Camtasia to satisfy client requirements and instructional design needs.

2. Collaborate and communicate closely with other teams to ensure project requirements are clear, agreed upon, and realistic to meet client expectations.

3. Follow established documentation and testing procedures for each project to ensure a consistent process for release to production, provide a clear portrait of development, and ease in updating prior modules.

4. Test functionality of eLearning materials for imperfections in layout, design, and programmed behaviors.

5. Design interactive modules for use in multiple eLearning situations to improve learner retention and ease of development.

6. Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.

-Bachelor degree from a regionally accredited institution preferred.  

-Two (2) years of previous experience developing high quality Computer and Web Based Tutorials and Assessments, using eLearning tools (Lectora, Questionmark, Camtasia, and Captivate) or similar applications and developing using HTML, Javascript, and Flash AS

-3 Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

-Understanding of LMS functionality including SCORM and AICC standards

-Demonstrated knowledge of 508 compliance standards and diversity for learners

-Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory

-Experience conducting quality assurance testing

-High level of organization and attention to detail

-Work with Instructional Developers to convey design details

-Provide a consistent learning experience by following department design standards

-Motivate learners by creating engaging approaches to learning

-Maintain best practice process documentation

-Ability to work productively with limited supervision

-Strong decision maker with demonstrated judgment and project ownership capabilities

-Ability to work within a team environment, prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and adapt to change

-Consistent demonstration of excellent oral and written communication skills with team members and project stakeholders

Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions.

Must have the ability to stand and sit frequently throughout an eight-hour period, reach vertically for overhead use as well as horizontally.

Must be able to use a telephone or headset equipment.

Incumbent must be able to lift 20 lbs., perform work at a computer terminal for 6-8 hours a day, and function in an environment with constant interruptions.
