DevOps Manager

  • DevOps/Platform Engineering Manager to be a critical member of a small but dynamic team supporting the development and operations of our highly distributed, multi cloud-based platform. The manager must be a capable technologist who is looking for an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of exploring, implementing, and supporting some of today’s most innovative technologies.
  • As one of our Engineering Managers, you will bring together development engineering, infrastructure technology, and operational support. You must have a passion for Service Delivery, Scalability, Availability, Performance. Many people love server maintenance, others love writing code, but you are excited about the place where these two meet.


  • Understands cloud IaaS technology at the cluster level, infrastructure as code, security layers, and application partitioning
  • Define the overall direction, implementation, best practice, and influence design solutions
  • Educate software engineers on the tools (Docker / Kubernetes) and CI/CD processes
  • Build out the framework for our DevOps / Platform practice
  • Build a highly performing team
  • Responsible for metrics and monitoring. Deeply familiar with a variety of monitoring solutions (both server and web applications), understands New Relic in depth, is able to set up, configure, and use these tools to identify potential gaps and stop them from ever becoming an issue
  • Accountable for all aspects of deployment and technical operations
  • Responsible for driving down operational infrastructure costs by moving between providers as needed and negotiating the best value for service between Azure, AWS, Google, Softlayer (IBM Cloud), and others
  • Excellent communicator, able to eliminate jargon when needed


  • Excellent knowledge of Cloud based Web Applications Architecture
  • Experience implementing, deploying, and monitoring distributed systems on Azure / AWS
  • Strong practical experience in managing highly available container runtime & orchestration engines (Docker, Rocket, Kubernetes, Rancher, Swarm, Mesos)
  • Proven automation experience using Kubernetes and Open Stack
  • Strong practical Linux and Windows-based systems administration skills in a cloud, virtualization, and containerized environments
  • Understanding of Microservices Oriented Architecture including auto scaling services
  • Experience with seamless/automation build scripts used for release management across all environments
  • Experience building and maintaining CI /CD systems
  • Provide technical guidance for defining, developing, build and deployment solutions. Support Application code deployments on various environments
  • Experience with various test automation frameworks
  • Understands serverless technology
  • 5 to 7 years’ experience
  • 4+ years of DevOps and Build / Deployment Tools experience
