Data Architect

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s in computer science, engineering or business related field and 7 years of relevant hands-on technical experience designing large scale data models for data warehouse environments including star schemas, ETLs and OLAP cubes or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in Microsoft BI Stack (SSIS, SSAS and SSRS) and SQL server 2012 or above. Experience in data modeling and database design. Experience in design and implementation of data warehouses and data marts. Familiarity with a  variety  of  reporting  tools including  Microsoft  Suite  of  analytic   and   visualization tools  or  others.  Fully competent in ETL and proprietary and/or structured or relational MS SQL server databases. Experience with index tuning strategies and complex query optimization in MS SQL Server 2012 or above. Demonstrated strong problem solving skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to perform all functions independently in a reasonable amount of time. Must be capable of working multiple priorities at any one time and evaluate/prioritize as necessary. Financial products industry experience preferred.

Overall Accountability:

The Sr. Data Architect is responsible for the creation, maintenance and optimization of stored procedures, database and ETL processes. In essence the quality and efficient movement of data, data integrations using industry standard tools (SSIS, SSRS, etc.); creation and maintenance of the schema, indexes, and  calculated fields; balancing the data and resolving data quality issues. Creates data marts and data lakes for end use software and users. Creates database logical and physical designs. Resolves reporting problems through collaboration with IT and Business Owners. Create, research and resolve data load (ETL) issues from the different data environments. Produces and maintains quality documentation on database structures and procedures.
