Job Description


My client located in Audubon PA is looking for a Mid-Level DevOps Engineer. The DevOps II contractor is responsible for supporting the software development lifecycle from product inception through production release while providing the most effective and efficient development environment for the development staff. They are a not for profit so they only have the ability to bring on a few fulltime employees, but have a large IT team where contractors typically stay for 2-4 years. This is a minimum 2-year contract and has extension potential paying up to 55.00 per hour.

This job requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with others. You will support for release and code promotion management activities including, tagging release artifacts, creating detailed release documentation, and automated post release testing/validation.



Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelors or more advanced degree
  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • Experience using and administering JEE application servers including JBoss (FUSE and EAP), WebSphere, or WebLogic, Tomcat, Active MQ
  • Experience using and administering IIS application server
  • 3+ years of experience in a DevOps related role supporting development and infrastructure teams
  • Experience in developing using scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell


Desired Skills & Experience

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in an agile team environment but with minimal supervision
  • Flexibility to change priorities as needed 
  • Experience building out environments (servers, middleware, databases)
  • Experience with automation of manual processes/activities
  • Administration of developer support tools like JIRA, Confluence, Fisheye, Crucible
  • Demonstrated ability to debug and maintain complex systems, particularly those created by others with minimal available documentation

Daily Responsibilities

  • Administration and support for current and future application server platforms (Jboss EAP and IIS preferred)
  • Automation of manual release or deployment tasks
  • Supporting basic database administration needs in Oracle and SQL server
  • Set-up and maintenance of the Continuous Integration environment including source code management and build tools for all product lines.
  • Support and administration of ancillary development support tools


The Offer
