Charlotte, NC
Contract to Hire

Job Summary:
Under general supervision, the Cobra Analyst will be responsible for overseeing assigned individual clients with their employee COBRA benefits coverage, FMLA, and LOA (company leave programs).  This position will also be responsible for handling client issues and ensuring effective and long term problem resolution and will provide clients with service as per policies and procedures. Duties and tasks are varied. 

Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for enrolling and handling COBRA continuation paperwork for the companies COBRA qualified health plans and handling monthly invoicing for these clients as well as account maintenance.
Coordinates and processes all assigned group data related activities with respect to COBRA Administration, (Federal and State) and Company leave programs.
Maintains organized files regarding enrollment, termination and changes. Makes sure files contain supporting data necessary to research decisions made on coding variations.
Analyzes all Group renewals, off-anniversary and termination requests for reasonability and completeness. Works closely with the COBRA team and other teams when inadequacies are found.
Reports inconsistencies in eligibility, plan structure, account set-ups and systems structure to management. When necessary, investigates inquires as to the accuracy of information coded. Discovers the root of any problem and suggests corrective actions for prevention of future situations.
Processes cash receipts, handles bank deposits, and prepare documents in a timely manner.
Prepares, updates, and maintains policy and procedure documentation.
Answers customer service call through the COBRA Customer Service queue and independently responds to questions and emails sent to the COBRA email address.
Coordinates and processes Paper Event Notices.
Coordinates and processes COBRA elections.
Updates production logs.
Maintains quality percent of 98 or above.
Resolves most questions and problems.
Refers only the most complex issues to higher levels.
Other duties as needed/assigned.

Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent. 
3+ years with COBRA, FMLA and/or LOA administration/coordination experience. 
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
Knowledgeable in handling various types of Federal, State and Company leave programs.
Understanding of Administration System processes (premium administration, eligibility, claims, billing, commissions, reporting and premium administration).
Good understanding of health and welfare benefits, COBRA, FMLA and retiree direct billing.
Customer service experience in a professional setting.
Knowledgeable in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
Strong problem-solving ability.
Must possess strong organizational skills that will allow for multi-tasking.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
 Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

JD Edwards.
In depth knowledge of COBRA laws and HIPAA portability and eligibility laws.
