Business Process Analyst
12 month contract 
Charlotte, NC

It is the role of the Enterprise Process Analyst to be a driving force in process documentation and business process management by working with business leaders to help standardize and document business processes and to support continuous improvement throughout the enterprise through the use of accepted frameworks, disciplines and practices. 
It is the responsibility of the Enterprise Process Analyst to take ownership of all tasks and challenges that they encounter in the operation of their assigned position, as well as to be responsible for developing a consistent and standard approach to business process management at the bank.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifies project and/or business stakeholders and establishes user classes, as well as their characteristics.
  • Provides evaluation of current process state and existing business documentation.
  • Conducts interviews to understand and document processes via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.
  • Organizes and synthesizes large amounts of information provided by stakeholders.
  • Develops business process maps in conjunction with other supporting documentation and artifacts spanning multiple functional areas, including value stream maps, procedures, technical documentation, and training based scenarios for both current state and future state processes.
  • Documents business process flows using BPMN-style diagramming and manages version control of changing process definitions.
  • Creates process models, procedures, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to vendors, the business, and/or a project team.
  • Develops and conducts peer reviews of process documentation to ensure that process models are correctly interpreted.
  • Identifies and presents process data, as well as workflow constraints, in a clear, concise manner to all levels of management.
  • Prepares artifacts in an understandable and presentable format, consistent with South State Bank standards and best practices, and manages artifacts through the use of a document repository.
  • Performs detailed process analysis using Lean Six Sigma techniques and other process methodology to drive the design, implementation, and management of optimized business processes.
  • Participates in process improvement through stakeholder interviews and facilitated sessions with diverse groups to gather cross-functional issues and opportunities, recommending best practices as appropriate.
  • Participates in root cause analysis and provide solutions for day-to-day process challenges.
  • Works with internal and external contacts on configuring third party solutions to meet the process needs of the business.
  • Effectively manages change and conflict during process elicitation.
  • Deploys process improvement with process control and optimization strategies for substantiating continuous success.
  • Researches, reviews, and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing Business Processes. Participates in Kaizen events, Green Belt and Black Belt process improvement projects and events.
  • Embraces change management activities and executes/champions tactics that support organization change.
  • Utilizes standard templates to accurately and concisely document business process, as well as assists with developing enterprise standards for process modeling and architecture.
  • Organizes process documentation to be used for future projects and initiatives.
  • Builds and manages business stakeholder relationships.
  • Assist in the identification of opportunities to minimize cost, provide recommendations and/or deliver corresponding strategic solutions to support cost effectiveness and to enhance the stakeholder experience. This may include participating in evaluation of tools and utilities that boost productivity or improve processes.
  • Participates in the establishment of process governance framework using business stakeholders and key process attributes.
  • Coordinates / facilitates training and communication of key knowledge assets with all required subject matter experts.
  • Ensures a close relationship is maintained with stakeholders in order to stay informed of their business needs and direction.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree required or Associates Degree
  • Certifications: Preferred Project Management Certification (CAPM or PMP) or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Experience: Three years related process analysis experience with a focus on business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data modeling.
  • Financial or related industry experience, experience working in a PMO or Business Transformational Office function, and/or experience working in a Lean/Six Sigma environment in a service industry preferred.
  • Knowledge: Demonstrated experience in project, process, and relationship management methodologies
