Job Description


First 30 days will be 8am - 5pm, then if the candidate is the right fit, project will extend out and will be night shift (6pm to 6am). Weekend work a must. Please let candidates know this. Both spots are Contract-To-Hire. Preferred rate $40/hr

Qualifications:
Qualified candidate will have an Associates Degree or equivalent (2-5+ years) experience as a Datacenter Technician. Experience with network cabling, rack/stack, LAN, WAN and VLAN protocols. Handle tape backup media and prepare for offsite storage if applicable. Install, configure computer hardware systems. Help customers resolve complex hardware-based issues. A+ PC Technician certification preferred. Candidate must have ability to multi-task with complex technical issues and have customer-focused personality. Perform remote hands support e.g. power cycles, physical equipment and cabling inspections, swap out failed components, testing of copper and fiber cables, handle storage media, and enter troubleshooting commands. 

Responsibilities: 
Perform ad hoc requests as directed by on-site management. Prepare and coordinate and receive incoming shipments. Compare packing lists with purchase details to ensure accurate make, model, and quantities are received. Perform hardware installations – rack / stack. Perform cable installations (routing, terminating) and testing. Perform hardware cabling troubleshooting. Support Service Manager processes (e.g. Service Request, Incident, Change) by creating, updating, and closing associated tickets. Perform physical audits and ensure the Service Manager database is updated and accurate. Collaborate and maintain business relationships in order to meet and exceed client expectations with respect to business as usual and project activities. Thorough understanding of cabling best practices (EIA/TIA-568 standards). Thorough understanding of IT hardware skills (HP, Cisco, etc.). Working knowledge of network cabling diagnostics and testing practices. Good understanding of LAN/WAN/Telephony concepts e.g. TCIP, switches, routers, vLANs
