Scrum Master
Contract to Hire
Dallas, TX

What You Will Be Doing: 

  • Responsible for managing multiple products and ensures the Scrum team(s) adheres to Agile / Scrum best practices, standards, and guidelines
  • Acts as a facilitator, helping the team maximize performance and increase efficiencies by removing impediments, minimizing distractions, escalating issues, and managing the roster ensuring the team has the proper tools in place (TFS / Jira, others as needed)
  • Creates and maintains information radiators and team tools, to include: sprint board, burn-down charts, burn-up charts, progress dashboards, etc.
  • Guides the team and organization in effectively employing Agile/Scrum practices and principles to create value and increase customer and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Monitor project / team performance through quantitative and qualitative measures of value, outcome, velocity, morale, and satisfaction
  • Tracks metrics that are important to the team in order to deliver success and continuous improvement. Identifies product dependencies and facilitates scrum integration
  • Develop, implement, and promote Agile best practice standards including the use of boards and tools where appropriate
  • Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
  • Coordinate between and among Agile teams for progress and impediments via Scrum of Scrums and project management oversight
  • Leading multiple teams with multiple levels of seniority to accomplish project goals
  • Collaborates with executive leadership team on portfolio governance for Scrum, Kanban, and other projects
  • Supports and educates the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog and planning releases
  • Facilitates the start or stop of teams based on investment decisions
  • Facilitates “self-organization” of the team to accomplish objectives and continuously improve processes
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Must Haves:

  • Candidates should have 5+ years’ experience as a Scrum Master in a large scale professional environment supporting Agile Development Teams and diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory
  • Knowledge and / or experience with widely successful Agile and Finance / Banking-industry techniques: User Stories, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, and Agile Games
  • Experience leading multiple Agile Scrum software development methodologies, values, and procedures
  • Excellent Analytical and Communication skills
  • Develop and grow team of Agile Project Leaders through training, mentoring and coaching while also hiring new staff in that role as needed
  • Strongly serving the Product Owner and Development Team in their quest to do everything possible to delight customers
  • Guiding the team and organization on how to use Agile / Scrum practices and values to delight customers
  • Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information 

Desired:

  • Industry experience a plus (Finance / Banking / Mortgage / Real Estate) 
  • Scrum Master certification (CSM) a plus
